A day at the Lake with the Garrett AT-Pro
Posted by Nathan Schwenke on
We decided to try detecting a day at the lake since we have a Garrett AT-Pro and haven't tried it out yet under water, it was pretty fun and although we didn't find any gold rings we did find quite a bit of clad and a few bullets and a nice large set of car keys (I bet someone left the lake that day not very happy). Also found quite a bit of pull tabs of course, but your not going to find any gold rings without digging the good ole pull tabs. The pull tabs ring about a 58...
Clad finds and exchange for Silver

Once and while one of us will turn in our clad that we have found metal detecting and turn it in for cash at the local banks. One week was a $127.23 cash out for the clad found. So after the cash out we then take that money to the local coin shop and buy silver or gold depending on how much we have, below are pics of what $127.23 bought. This is a great way to show that this fun hobby does pay off and you cant say that for all hobbies!
Silver goodies found at local lake

Bruce the digger decided to go on a solo hunt and hit one of the local lakes Northwest of Town. It's hard to tell how many more days like this we may have, it was 80 degrees and sunny and for the first of October, you couldn't ask for anything better than this. One of his first spots was a small play area and he dug up a nice silver ring... Awesome find!! And of course many clad coins today as well, not bad for a mid-week hunt. More clad cash-out for silver

We decided to cash out the rest of our clad that we found so it could be exchanged for silver. We ended up cashing out a total of $105.99 in clad and were able to purchase all the silver items below in the picture. That put us at a grand total of clad at $233.22. Not bad considering we dug alot of pennies this last year. Those pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters sure add up!! Awesome Finds during Mid-May Hunt

We went out for a few hours to do some coin shooting and man did we have a great day. It seems like whenever you go hunting you find some goodies just laying on top as we found this real cool pop gun pistol. We found an older area in Northwest Lincoln and decided to give it a try and it paid off, we found an old ring but it wasn't silver, but about 1 hour later we hit a 1941 silver quarter and 2 Wheaties that were in the same hole so that was quite the find. You can...
