We decided to try detecting a day at the lake since we have a Garrett AT-Pro and haven't tried it out yet under water, it was pretty fun and although we didn't find any gold rings we did find quite a bit of clad and a few bullets and a nice large set of car keys (I bet someone left the lake that day not very happy). Also found quite a bit of pull tabs of course, but your not going to find any gold rings without digging the good ole pull tabs. The pull tabs ring about a 58 on the Garrett AT-Pro which is the same exact signal as a medium sized gold ring, maybe next time?
